Families are invited to explore opportunities in academics, the arts and athletics at Sussex Academy at two October open houses in advance of Delaware’s annual school choice application window.

Sussex Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school in Georgetown that offers an accelerated academic program for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. 

The school choice application window is Nov. 3 through Jan. 14, 2026. Via school choice, families living in Delaware may apply to enroll their children in any Delaware public traditional school district, charter school or vocational-technical school, regardless of their home address. 

Applications submitted for anticipated openings at Sussex Academy are electronically recorded by third-party Data Services Center. If the number of applications exceeds available openings, a blind lottery is held in January to select students who will be invited to enroll in the upcoming school year. Students are admitted in the order their application is drawn in the lottery.

The elementary open house is set for Wednesday, Oct. 22 at its campus, located at 22051 Wilson Road. The secondary open house will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29 at its campus, located at 21150 Airport Road. Both events take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
