Admissions
Sussex Academy participates in Delaware’s School Choice admissions process. Families interested in enrolling their child must first register with their resident school district and then submit a School Choice application to Sussex Academy during the designated application window, which typically runs from early November through early January.
If the number of applications exceeds available seats, a blind, randomized lottery is conducted to determine enrollment. Families selected in the lottery receive official enrollment invitations and are required to confirm their acceptance by a specified deadline in the spring. Those not selected are placed on a waitlist that remains active through the start of the school year.
Preferences, such as sibling attendance or staff children, may apply according to state guidelines, but a lottery is used whenever demand exceeds capacity. For detailed information on deadlines, eligibility, and the lottery process, families are encouraged to contact Sussex Academy directly.
