Sussex Academy Elementary School (SAES) is a public charter school serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Located at the edge of Redden State Forest, our campus offers a unique learning environment that combines academic excellence with hands-on, nature-based experiences.

At SAES, our mission is to foster academic achievement and social responsibility in a small school environment where students participate in a highly accelerated college preparatory program that prepares them for the technological and global mindedness needed for the 21st century and that instills ethical conduct and service to others in their day-to-day lives. We set high expectations for every child—challenging them to grow as learners while also focusing on their social, emotional, and personal development.

Our curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong foundational skills. In addition to core academic subjects, students participate in weekly environmental science classes, character education, and enrichment activities that support the whole child.
