Welcome to Sussex Academy Elementary School!
One of the things that sets Sussex Academy Elementary (SAES) apart is the way we use our campus.
Located at the edge of the Redden State Forest, SAES campus is an ecological treasure, with two ponds, trails with five family fitness stations, a vegetable garden, a greenhouse, three goats, a sheep, and chickens. Our students in kindergarten - 5th grade participate in environmental science class once a week throughout the year in addition to their regular science classes. Our campus encourages us to incorporate a nature-centered, hands-on curriculum for our students.

Tardy / Absent Policy
Please call and/or email if your child is absent or will be late. Also, call and/or email if you will be picking your child up early. Handwritten notes are accepted at the Elementary Main Office.
If you have a doctor’s note, please send that in as well.
Notes: Please put the student's name and grade level in the Subject Line. In the body of the letter, please include the date of absence and reason for absence.
If your child is going to have a different mode of transportation at dismissal (parent pick-up instead of riding the bus) please make sure to let the school know. TALK to someone in the office - don't assume we received a note or email.

EXTENDED DAY 2023-2024
We are offering Extended Care to students before and after the regular school day. The after-school program includes supervised play, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, time for a snack, and homework time as appropriate. Families eligible for Free (no charge) or Reduced (charged half) will be adjusted accordingly.
Extended Day Times Daily Rates
Before School 7:30 am - 8:10 am ~ $2.50 per day ($10.00 per week)
After School 3:15 pm - 5:30 pm ~ $12.50 per day ($62.50 per week)
****flat rate -we do not charge by the minute, half hour, or hour****
