Weather & Closures
Please check here for updates about unexpected closures, especially those related to weather.
In accordance with Delaware State Code, all indoor and outdoor pools must evacuate for 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or last lightning strike. If storms are predicted to persist, the Aquatic Center may close for the remainder of the day or delay opening.
Note: Hours are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen events.
Schedule
- Monday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Tuesday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Note: The last reservation for a lane must be made at least 1 hour before closing. Please remember to exit the pool 15 minutes before closing to allow time to vacate the locker rooms.
Program Participation
Anyone interested in participating in our programs—including aquatic fitness classes, lap swim sessions or lessons—should email us before visiting the Aquatic Center.

About Us
The Sussex Academy Aquatic Center is part of the Sussex Academy Charter School and operates as a non-profit entity. Our facility features a year-round, indoor, eight-lane, 25-yard heated pool, with generous deck space and an upstairs mezzanine for spectator seating. It is one of the largest pools in Sussex County, Delaware.
The Sussex Academy Aquatic Center is committed to providing excellent service for all individuals, including those requiring special accommodations. Please contact us in advance with any questions or specific needs.
