STUDENT SERVICES

A trusted foundation to Explore, Experience and Excel.

At Sussex Academy, student success begins with feeling safe, supported and connected. Our Student Services team strives to be the trusted foundation for every student’s journey: creating safe, healthy and welcoming experiences where belonging and inclusion are part of every student’s school day.

Our work supports Sussex Academy’s mission to create a supportive school environment with accelerated learning opportunities that prepare students to Explore, Experience and Excel. Through counseling, academic guidance, and college and career advising, we help students build the skills, confidence and connections to embrace those opportunities.

Supporting the Whole Student

Academic Success
We help students develop effective study habits, strengthen organization and time management, navigate academic challenges, and make informed decisions about their educational paths. Working with students, families and teachers, we identify supports that help students participate, progress, and achieve their goals.

Social-Emotional Well-Being
Our counselors provide a supportive space for students to navigate emotions, relationships, academic stress and personal challenges. Through individual counseling, small groups and classroom lessons, students build coping skills, resilience, self-advocacy and healthy connections.

College and Career Readiness
We help students explore their strengths and interests, consider future possibilities and plan meaningful next steps. Our College and Career Advisor supports students as they navigate college and career planning, the college application process, and the transition beyond high school.
