Sussex Academy trains nursing students
In addition to providing rigorous academic opportunities to its own students, Sussex Academy also hosts professionals training in post-secondary education programs as well.
Nurse Anne Keck from Rutgers School of Nursing has been working at the charter school’s secondary campus, where she is fulfilling a course-required clinical practicum.
Certified in clinical documentation and as an integrity practitioner, Keck has been shadowing and assisting secondary nurse Dawnyel Furlong, whose background matches Keck’s career interests.
Working in a school setting is fun, Keck said, noting her true passion is in documentation and research; she has experience working in high-acuity settings such as progressive care and ICU.
