Student Help
While the Sussex Academy delivers an academically accelerated program to its students, we recognize that not all students enrolling in our school have been adequately prepared for this type of instruction. For this reason, the Sussex Academy has established several modes to offer academic support for students in need. For example, our before school care program, available to all students daily from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m., is staffed by a teacher who is available to assist struggling students with assignments and/or basic skills remediation. Also, special education students attend regular classes with their peers and receive immediate and ongoing support in reading and mathematics from a special education teacher using a co-teaching model. And, academic support can often be arranged with various teachers on the staff of the Sussex Academy.
