Lottery and Enrollment

Complete applications received for anticipated sixth and ninth grade openings during the Open Application Period are recorded electronically in Data Services, assigned a confirmation number, and then sealed in unmarked envelopes and placed in a box. If more applications are received during the Open Application Period than there are anticipated openings, a lottery is held to select the students who will be invited to enroll for the upcoming school year. During the lottery, each application processed during the Open Application Period is randomly drawn from the box, the submission number is announced, and it is assigned a lottery number based on the order in which it is selected. Students are admitted to the school in the order that their application is selected from the box.

If lotterys are required for the 2018 - 2019 school year, then the proceedings will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the school. The lottery results will be posted on our website and letters will be mailed to all applicants providing enrollment details to the successful candidates and waiting list information to those who are not selected. Applicants are encouraged to attend the lottery, as it is an open, public proceeding.

SY 2019 Lottery Results

The application numbers of students who are assigned lottery numbers 110 or below will be invited to enroll for the 2019 school year. The full lottery results, including wait list status, are avialable by accessing the link on our home page.

Enrollment Period
Immediately following each lottery, all applicants are contacted and informed of their status. The applicants that were assigned numbers during the lottery proceedings that are within the number of anticipated openings are invited and given instructions on how to enroll. The enrollment period for the 2018-19 school year begins on February 1, 2018 and ends March 16, 2018. The applicants whose numbers are above the anticipated openings allotment are placed on a waiting list based on their lottery numbers. In the event that a lottery is not needed for either grade 6 or 9, then the application and enrollment periods will be extended.
